A little note about me

This is my first ever attempt at writing a blog on my life. I'm sure I will stumble and I will make mistakes along the way, but I want to give it a try. It helps me mentally to write things down. I feel as though I'm speaking to my closest friend.

I'm a mother of two grown children, an empty nester per say. My oldest, Patrick will be 37 this year and youngest, Jessica, turned 26 in January. I also have two step-children, James will be 26 this year and Ernie will be 20. My mother also moved in with us in July of 2022, so we're a family of 3 now. It's been an utter joy to have her so close now. She was living an hour away and it was difficult, especially with all the kids activities and things that had to be done around the house, to spend time with her. We are enjoying having her at the house and when my husband is away for work, it makes being at the house alone, less lonely.

All our kids are miles and miles away, except Ernie, he's the baby of them all and still lives in town. Patrick lives up north in Ohio, James is in Colorado and Jessica is in Florida. I sure they all come home for Christmas this year, but I'm not going to hold my breath on two of them, lol!

Life for me hasn't been easy! But who has an easy life? I can't say that I've met anyone that's had an easy life. Struggles are a natural occurrence in one's life and very normal. I guess you could say, if we didn't have the constant changes, the constant strife in life, it would be boring. That's an understatement for sure!

I won't go all the way back to my childhood, but I believe a lot of my problems stem from my childhood. That being said, life is somewhat easier now, or maybe it's just different challenges to deal with. Anyway, I hope you join me as I try to navigate life as an empty-nester and a new blogger.
